Many older homes have a 100 amp electrical panel which will not support the growing demands for power. In some cases, a 200 amp entrance to a home will not be sufficient and a 400 amp entrance will need to be installed.
A large factor causing this increase in demand are home heating systems being changed from oil to electric heating to reduce heating costs and the production of greenhouse emissions.
Electric vehicle charging at home is another factor that will create the need to upgrade to a 200 or possibly a 400 amp electrical entrance.
